WPTV Channel 5 reports online:
LOXAHATCHEE, FL -- Construction workers across South Florida will be protesting Thursday at the new Florida Power and Light facility today. So, not only is FPL building plants that we may not even need in the current economic downturn, but they're using out-of-state labor to cut costs!
Workers say the construction company working on the plant in Loxahatchee has been hiring out of state workers instead of local workers.
The power plant is expected to open in about a year and a half.
The protest will take place at 4:30 Thursday afternoon outside the facility.
